July 2016 was another strong month for McDonald’s and Starbucks, who held on to the top 2 positions respectively in three out of four National categories: Visit Share, Customer Visitation Frequency, and Customer Loyalty. In the one category that the two brands didn’t own the top ranks (National Brand Draw), McDonald’s landed at #2 and Starbucks was #4. Led by McDonald’s, Starbucks and Subway the top 10 brands by Share of Visits accounted for over 60% of national QSR Visits. 

With summer in full swing, Sonic Drive-in moved into 3rd place in Customer Visitation Frequency as customers took advantage of the restaurant’s refreshing beverages. Jamba Juice (#20) and Smoothie King (#22) both saw a similar boost in customer frequency.

While Culvers remained #21in Share of Visits, the brand claimed a top 20 Frequency ranking (#18) a top 10 Loyalty ranking (#8) and top 5 Brand Draw ranking (#3).

Del Taco moved up to #31 on the list of National QSRs by Share of Visits; however, in the Los Angeles Del Taco held on to the #5 QSR by Share of Visits.
